Pursuant to Chapter 6. Section 29 of the Bangsamoro Autonomy Act No. 13, an Ecozone Advisory Council shall be created. With this, the first ecozone advisory council meeting was convened yesterday , June 21, 2023, at the Provincial Satellite Office of Maguindanao del Norte. Members of the Council attended the meeting namely: MDN Provincial Governor Hon. Abdulraof A. Macacua – Chairman of the Council, Executive Director of the Bangsamoro Economic Zone Authority, Atty. Sukarno A. Abas, Municipal Administrator Usman R. Ibay III, representing Hon. Mayor Cahar Ibay of the Municipality of Parang, and General Manager Mr. Luigi Piccolo Pena of the Bangsamoro Terminal Service Inc. (BTSI).

The function of the said council is to advise the ecozone management on matters pertaining to policy initiatives and to assist the ecozone management in settling problem arising between labor and any enterprise in the ecozone.

Also in attendance were Dr. Tumanda Antok, Provincial Administrator of MDN, Port Administrator Salipada B. Alongan and Deputy Administrator Muhammad B. Abdullah of PFEZ, Ms. May N. Quesada, Planning Officer of LGU of Parang, Personnel from BEZA, PFEZ, and the Province of Maguindanao Del Norte.
