Orientation and Coordination Meetings in the Island Provinces of BARMM

LOOK | As part of the agency’s mandate to operate, administer, manage, and develop the economic zones in the region, series of orientation and coordination meetings to the Island provinces of BARMM are being conducted.
Last August 14-17, the Bangsamoro Economic Zone Authority led by its Executive Director Atty. Sukarno A. Abas, visited three (3) Municipalities in the Province of Basilan in coordination and assistance from the Ministry of Trade, Investments, and Tourism – Basilan Provincial Office led by Provincial Director Argie Sarco and Chief Jaida Tulawie.
Atty. Abas and his team paid their courtesy visit to the Provincial Governor of Basilan Hon. Hadjiman Hataman Salliman, Hon. Mayor Alih A. Sali of Akbar Municipality, Hon. Mayor Roderick H. Furigay of Lamitan City and Hon. Mayor Hanie A. Bud of Municipality of Maluso.
The team also conducted site visitations on the proposed economic zones in the areas of Lamitan City, Municipality of Maluso, and Municipality of Akbar.
The coordinations, orientations, and site visits placed a strong emphasis on collaboration and development initiatives, indicating a viable partnership between BEZA and the Local Government Units of Basilan Province..
