Under the Republic Act No. 11058 also known as “An Act Strengthening Compliance with Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Standards and Providing Penalties for Violations Thereof”, employers are now required to comply with Occupational Safety and Health Standards, including updated training requirements, mandated on-site clinic facilities, audit and tracking of compliance, informing workers on all types of hazards in the workplace and giving workers the right to refuse unsafe work, as well as providing safe facilities and personal protective equipment.
With this, The Bangsamoro Economic Zone Authority (BEZA) and Polloc Freeport and Ecozone (PFEZ) in Partnership with the Ministry of Labor and Employment (MOLE-BARMM) conducted a Basic Occupational Safety and Health Training (BOSH) for Safety Officer I last January 31 to February 1, 2023, at Polloc Freeport and Ecozone, Parang, Maguindanao.
The 2-day training was participated by personnel from BEZA, PFEZ, and Port Users and was graced by Ms. Jennifer A. Nur, Mr. Moctar S. Macalipat, Mr. Abdulrakman S. Nor, Engr. Dimaporo A. Diocolano, Ms. Jamalia A. Lantod and Mr. Akmad Mangondato from MOLE-BARMM as resource speakers.
